EFY Counselor Training

It happened. After all these weeks of anticipation, I have begun EFY! This week was just counselor training (week 0) and, to get us ready for each of the activities of the coming weeks, we had our own mini EFY.

For those who are not sure or have missed the last couple weeks of blog posts, EFY stands for the “Especially For Youth” program that is sponsored by Brigham Young University. The program is dedicated to helping youth establish habits and skills, like study habits and goal setting, that will benefit them for the rest of their lives! My role with EFY is a counselor and I, along with a co-counselor, am directly involved with teaching the youth these principles. If you want to know more, message me! I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have!

Do you ever wish that you could look ahead into the future? That is how I feel right now! I wish that I could just look ahead and see the end of this week, a month from now, and even the end of the summer. I want to see everything from how my youth grow and change to how I grow and change! I want to know what choices that I need to make to become my best self and to help the youth do the same. I want to know who my youth will be and who my co-counselors will be (we change weekly).

Unfortunately, I don’t have that ability BUT I do know how to prepare myself for all of the above. I have been working over the last couple months to implement what I am going to be teaching into my personal life. All the goal setting and studying that I have done has prepared me for this summer in ways that I did not fathom at their inception. I am so grateful for those people in my life that have pushed me and helped me to be this way.

So THANK YOU! If you want to follow along on my EFY adventures, check out my personal Instagram! I will be posting our daily activities and little snippets of the youth that I will be working with.

Love you guys and thank you for liking, commenting, and subscribing!
